Suit may be filed over Whiteclay liquor

THURSDAY, MARCH 28, 2002

Alleging a double standard based on race, an activist group on Wednesday said it is considering suing the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission over the sale of beer in the border town of Whiteclay.

Whiteclay is located near the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Its four beer establishments cater largely to a reservation clientele.

Nebraskans for Peace says the commission treats business there differently and ignores violations of the law.
