Omaha man's resentencing delayed

MAY 25, 2001

A judge in Nebraska on Thursday delayed the resentencing hearing of Randy Reeves, a member of the Omaha Tribe, until September in order to give his attorneys more time to prepare.

Reeves was sentenced to death in 1981 for the killings of two women. The Nebraska Supreme Court last year ordered he be given a new sentence.

Reeves was two days away from execution when the court agreed to hold it back.
