Officers charged in Saskatoon

Prompted by the freezing deaths of several men over the past several months, aboriginal residents of Saskatoon brought serious charges against the Saskatoon RCMP. Two of the city's police officers have now been charged in connection in a case where the man fortunately survived after being allegedly left by the officers in the cold after taking his jacket. The two officers are scheduled to appear in provincial court on May 3.

Problems with police in Saskatoon are not unknown, with similar allegations going back at least 10 years.
