A company who wants to operate a kitty litter operation on land next to a Nevada reservation has run into more opposition that it has ever imagined, said a company official.

Bob Vetere, vice president and general counsel for Oil-Dri, said he has never seen the kind of opposition to his company. The company says it will bring jobs to the region but the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, the Hungry Valley Indian Colony and local residents think the environmental and health risks outweigh the benefits.

The 24-hour, 7-day a week operation would be located on land next to the Reno-Sparks Reservation.
