Nuclear test reactor will be closed

Outgoing Secretary of Energy Bill Richardson will order the permanent shutdown of the Fast Flux Test Facility on the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Washington this week, a Department of Energy spokesman said on Wednesday.

Richardson, a former New Mexico Congressman and UN ambassador, next plans on teaching a course the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
