Crow scout's medicine bag still disputed
JUNE 26, 2001 A medicine bag purported to have belonged to Curley, a Crow scout for Lt. Col. George A. Custer, is still in dispute 125 years after the Battle of Little Bighorn. Descendants of Curley want the bag repatriated. A man who once possessed it now claims he was wrongfully deprived of the pouch, worth an estimated $45,000, by the owners of a trading post who claim it was a payment for services rendered.
