Close encounters of the Kiowa kind

Reknowned Kiowa author N. Scott Momaday will read and discuss his works at University of Alaska Anchorage tonight, and make other appearances in the area next week.

The Pulitzer-winning author has also been teaching a class on Native oral traditions at the school's Fairbanks campus. He has been staying there as part of the Northern Momentum Scholars Program.

Momaday's Kiowa name is Tsoai-talee, or "Rocktree Boy."
