Pueblo's water usage won't be curtailed by judge

WEDNESDAY, JULY 2, 2003

A federal judge in New Mexico rejected the state's motion for a preliminary junction against Pojoaque Pueblo's water use.

The state contends that the tribe is taking more than its fair share of water. The tribe has opened a golf course and says it is within its rights.

The tribe and others in northern New Mexico are parties to a decades-old water rights litigation that has yet to be settled.
