Okla. compact bill has support of horse tracks
THURSDAY, MAY 29, 2003 Oklahoma's horse track operators are backing a bill that will allow them to offer the same electronic games as tribal casinos. The bill changes state law to allow certain Class II/Class III machines. Racetracks say they need the games to survive. Although some tribal leaders have been in talks with state lawmakers over the bill, not all tribal leaders are happy with it. "The tribes feel like we have not been consulted on this," Bennett Arkeketa, chairman of the Ponca Tribe, told The Tulsa World. Get the Story:
