Mont. tribe sues DOI over coalbed methane plan
FRIDAY, MAY 9, 2003
The Northern Cheyenne Tribe of Montana is suing the Department of Interior for allowing coalbed methane development.
The tribe is concerned that off-reservation development will hurt the environment. The suit says the Bureau of Land Management didn't comply with federal law when it approved new drilling in the Powder River Basin.
