Okla. governor won't stop tribal compact talks
TUESDAY, MAY 6, 2003 A group called One Nation, described by The Native American Times as an anti-Indian rights organization, asked Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry (D) to stop discussions with tribes. The group said tribes with smoke shops and casinos are violating the law. It is calling for public hearings on tribal tobacco negotiations but Henry said he will continue talks in private.
