Lobbyist for Goshute waste facility paid well
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 23, 2003
A lobbyist for a proposed nuclear waste facility on the Skull Valley Goshute Reservation has been paid well, The Salt Lake Tribune reports.
The paper examined reports that showed former senator Jim McClure, a Republican from Idaho, was paid more than $1 million over five years. The money was paid by Private Fuel Storage, a group of private utilities that wants to store waste on the Goshute Reservation.
As a senator, McClure wrote the federal law for nuclear waste storage.
