Appeals court hears Cheney energy task force case

FRIDAY, APRIL 18, 2003

A federal appeals court on Thursday questioned the Bush administration's attempt to stop a lawsuit seeking information about Vice President Dick Cheney's energy task force.

The Bush administration contends Cheney's meetings with industry representatives and lobbyists should be kept private. A federal judge said the Sierra Club and Judicial Watch can obtain some information but the Department of Justice has asked the D.C. Court of Appeals to intervene and end the case before it concludes.
