Navajo Nation panels turn down water deals
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 19, 2003 Two Navajo Nation panels voted against two water-related agreements on Monday. The Navajo Nation Council's Intergovernmental Relations Committee rejected an agreement to sell surplus water to two coal plants in the Four Corners. The deal could have brought in anywhere from $1 million to $7 million Separately, the Government Services Committee voted down another agreement affecting water on the San Juan River. Get the Story:
