Wis. governor set to veto second gaming bill

FRIDAY, MARCH 14, 2003

Wisconsin lawmakers don't appear to have enough votes to override Governor Jim Doyle's expected veto on a gaming oversight bill.

Republicans have led the charge against Doyle, a Democrat, who negotiated two new casino pacts that don't expire. The latest bill requires legislative approval if the agreement lasts longer than 15 years or deals with off-reservation casinos.
