New Okla. governor supports Native museum

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 22, 2003

Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry (D) said his administration supports the proposed Native American Cultural Center.

The state must contribute $33 million in order to receive the same amount of federal funds for the project. Henry said he will explore all available options to come up with the money.

The center would be located in Oklahoma City. It will house a 125,000-square-foot museum and a 75,000-square-foot marketplace.
