Seminole Nation developing allotment

MONDAY, DECEMBER 9, 2002

The Seminole Nation is developing an Indian-owned restricted allotment in Oklahoma City.

The land itself measures about 150 feet by 50 feet. But the tribe's economic development authority is purchasing nearby property as part a plan to open a smoke shop, a tribal office and potentially a gaming facility.

The tribe is paying $72,000 a year to lease the land from Choctaw Nation individual Indian beneficiaries. The property was the subject of a series of Indianz.Com articles.
