McCaleb plans to issue recognition ruling
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 26, 2002 Assistant Secretary Neal McCaleb plans to issue a decision on a Connecticut tribe's federal recognition next week, The New London Day reports. The Schaghticoke Tribal Nation filed for federal status in 1980. McCaleb will be issuing a preliminary finding, a spokesperson told the paper. McCaleb might also sign a final determination on the Golden Hill Paugussett, which is due January 8, before he leaves by the end of the year. Get the Story:
