Court to move on Pueblo water issue

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 2002

A federal magistrate plans to hold a near next week to address claims by the state of New Mexico that Pojoaque Pueblo is using too much water.

The state wants to stop the tribe from using water for an 18-hole golf course under construction and a proposed resort. But the tribe and the Department of Justice said the hearing would be premature because the water rights at stake have yet to be quantified.
