Clinton snowmobile restrictions reversed

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2002

The Bush administration has rescinded a ban on snowmobiles in two national parks, the Associated Press reports.

The Department of Interior plans to allow no more than 1,110 machines at Yellowstone and Grand Teton. The move is a reversal of a Clinton administration policy to outright ban snowmobiles in order to minimize the impact on the environment.
