MONDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2002 There are 17 states that don't celebrate Columbus Day. It wasn't always like that in South Dakota. But in 1990, the late Gov. George Mickelson created Native American Day instead and called for reconciliation between Indians and non-Indians. Get the Story:
