Reels leaves future to new generation

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2002

Mashantucket Pequot chairman Kenneth M. Reels wrote tribal members on Tuesday to inform them he won't seek re-election as chairman of the Connecticut tribe.

Reels said he wanted to make way for a new generation of "younger" leadership. But former chairman and current vice chairman Richard "Skip" Hayward may try to regain the post.
