Maine tribe to back up casino claims
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2002
Economists hired by two Maine tribes will provide support of the economic benefits a casino will bring.
The Penobscot Nation and the Passamaquoddy Tribe believe a casino will create 4,000 new jobs and contribute $100 million in revenues to the state. Their experts will testify to a state task force on gaming.
The task force was created in response to the tribes' proposal for a casino.
