Bill to double reservation road funds
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2002 Sen. Jeff Bingaman (D-N.M.) has introduced a bill to double the amount of money available to the Indian Reservation Road Program at the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The bill increases spending to about $462 million per year from 2004-2009. Currently, the program receives about $275 million a year. Tribal leaders are in Washington, D.C., for an Indian Country transportation conference. Get the Story:
