NMAI pow-wow attracts thousands
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2002 The first ever National Museum of the American Indian pow-wow was held over the weekend in Washington, D.C. Two days of dancing, drumming, vendors and more drew thousands of visitors. Hundreds of tribes in the United States and Canada were represented. The pow-wow was held next to the site where the new NMAI museum will open in fall 2004. Get the Story:
