Maine gaming panel accused of bias
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2002
The Maine Casino Task Force is scheduled to start work today on a study of gaming in the state.
The panel was created in response a proposal by the Passamaquoddy and Penobscot tribes. The tribes want to build a $400 million casino.
The task force has 18 members. An anti-casino group says three lawmakers are already biased in favor of the project and other panel members have interests.
