Blood quantum requirement considered

The Flathead Nation of Montana is considering changing its enrollment policy.

A referendum removing a 1/4 blood quantum requirement is being certified for an upcoming ballot. Voters could decide on the issue in the coming months.

The Flathead Nation currently has about 6,000 members. The Salish Tribe and Kootenai Tribe make up the nation.
