Tribal fishery venture takes off
THURSDAY, AUGUST 22, 2002 The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut has begun a shellfish project in nearby Rhode Island. The tribe growing 35 million clams and 2 million oysters on the Pawcatuck River. The shellfish are considered environmental friendly because they help clean the river. The project is a small part of a larger one the tribe is hoping to start.
