Top DOI computer official to retire
THURSDAY, AUGUST 8, 2002 The Department of Interior's former chief information officer is retiring, Federal Computer Week reports. Daryl White was CIO for four years before abruptly being reassigned to another position last month. The change came after he testified against Secretary Gale Norton in her contempt trial. The reassignment also came after an internal investigation was conducted into the handling of Indian trust computer systems that he oversaw but over which he had no direct authority. W. Hord Tipton is the new CIO. Get the Story:
