Hopi Tribe offers money for project

THURSDAY, JULY 18, 2002

The Hopi Tribe of Arizona is offering to help pay for a $100 million water pipeline project.

The pipeline would provide an alternative water source for Peabody Energy, a conglomerate which owns the largest coal conglomerate. Peabody currently uses a water aquifer that the tribe says is drying up.
