Wyo. site eyed for gas drilling

MONDAY, JULY 1, 2002

The Bureau of Land Management in September plans to release an environmental impact statement affecting drilling at a site in Wyoming known for its unusual terrain, endangered species and sacred sites.

The Jack Morrow Hills could provide 4 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and half-million barrels of oil, according to state estimates. The hills are part of the Red Desert.
