USDA investigates 4H complaint
TUESDAY, JUNE 25, 2002 The Department of Agriculture is investigating the use of American Indian symbols and tribal names a 4H club in West Virginia. The Washington Times reports that the probe began yesterday. USDA provides $4.5 million in funds to the 4H program, which is run through West Virginia University. A non-Indian filed a civil rights complaint because he felt the group's use of symbols and "tribes" was offensive. Get the Story:
