Huffman introduced H.R.3444 on May 15, 2025. He said the bill ensures that tribes have a seat at the table when it comes to the management of federal forest lands.

“Tribal nations have played a key role in land management since time immemorial, and it is past time for the federal land land management agencies to start working with them as equal partners, to take a step towards fulfilling our trust and treaty obligations to tribal nations,” Huffman said at a hearing of the House Subcommittee on Federal Lands in Washington, D.C.
