The Oneida Nation has big plans in store for its flagship casino in the state of New York.
The multi-year project will double the convention and meeting space at the Turning Stone Resort Casino. The tribe is calling the expansion the largest ever in the last 20 years.
“As we begin our largest reinvestment in two decades, we embark upon a new chapter for our enterprises, ensuring that we remain one of the top event and tourism destinations in New York for decades to come,” Ray Halbritter, Oneida Indian Nation Representative and Oneida Nation Enterprises CEO, said in a news release on Tuesday.
“Today we are experiencing record demand for hosting conferences and other events at Turning Stone that far outpaces our current hotel and convention facilities. This extensive multi-year expansion project will help us meet this rising need and even greater demand in the future,” Halbritter added. “Our 30-year track record has proven that investments like this are essential to sustain the growth and success of our enterprises and the entire region.”
The project includes a new hotel tower that will feature approximately 250 rooms, more dining options, additional outdoor spaces and other amenities. Groundbreaking is expected sometime in 2023.
Turning Stone is one of four Indian gaming facilities operated by the tribe. It is the largest of the Yellow Brick Road Casino and Sports Book, the Point Place Casino and The Lake House at Sylvan Beach.
