Divorce takes a major emotional toll. It also usually brings a major financial burden as well.
Couples that have combined resources and bank accounts now have to fairly divide up assets and face the reality of going it alone again. There are also lawyer’s fees, child support and other considerations.
Native couples also might even face residency restrictions on tribal land once they’re no longer married.
