Native America Calling: The Delta variant, COVID-19 booster vaccines and reinstating safety measures
Thursday, September 9, 2021
In a state with a vaccination rate of just 44 percent, the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma reports a tribal employee rate of more than 70 percent.
More than 90 percent of eligible tribal members in Virginia have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
In states with low vaccination rates and high COVID-19 resurgence numbers, many tribes are far outpacing their non-tribal neighbors and adhering to safety guidelines. Native America Calling will hear from health experts and tribal leaders about the messages that are connecting with tribal citizens.Cherokee Nation continues to support schools & students, donating 8,000 masks made in our PPE facility in Stilwell this week to Dahlonegah School’s 170 students. The masks will help prevent students from spreading the virus at school & then taking it home & into the community. pic.twitter.com/gbO2pbe4c8
