The
Navajo Nation is set to take over a detoxification center in Gallup, New Mexico.
As part of an agreement with the city, the tribe will provide $350,000 to bring the Gallup Detox Center up to standards, The Navajo Times reported. The city also will provide $320,000.
To operate the center, the tribe and the city will each provide 10 percent of their share of the county's liquor excise tax. The tribe will be required to come up with the remaining funds.
The tribe's Behavioral Health Department will run the center.
