A group called
Arizonans Concerned About Smoking
will collect signatures to put a smoking ban on the Navajo Nation ballot in 2014, KJZZ reports.
The group helped pass the
Smoke-Free Arizona Act
in 2006. The law doesn't apply in Indian Country so a change in tribal law will be required.
Dr. Leland Fairbanks, the president of the group, said a signature drive will begin in January 2014.
