Joel Pourier, the former executive director of a shuttered Indian charter school
in Minneapolis, Minnesota, pleaded guilty to stealing more than $1 million.
Pourier, 40, admitted to all eight counts of theft by swindle. He wrote fraudulent checks and took funds from the bank account of the Oh Day Aki/Heart of the Earth while students went without services.
Pourier will be sentenced August 30. Prosecutors plan to seek a prison sentence of about 10 years.
