Teens from the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians set records and brought home medals from the 2008 North American Indigenous
Games.
The 10 students competed in basketball and baseball as part of Team Wisconsin. The team brought home a total of 31 medals.
"It's definitely something I won't forget anytime soon," Tanner Davids, a tribal member, told The Lakeland Times.
The tribe helped send the team to the games, which were hosted by the Cowichan Tribes in British
Columbia earlier this month.
