The financially troubled First Nations University of Canada plans to have a balanced budget in time for classes in the fall.
The $16.9-million budget will put the school on "solid ground," the vice-president of administration said. "There will be no closures of any facilities or any campuses and there will be no layoffs," Al Ducharme was quoted as saying.
Ducharme said the school won't be making any new hires in order to balance the budget. FNUC also won't fill positions that have been left vacant as a result of a management shakeup.
