Rep. Sharice Davids<\/a> (D), a citizen of the Ho-Chunk Nation, easily won another term in office, representing the 3rd Congressional District in Kansas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to unofficial results from the Kansas Secretary of State<\/a>, Davids secured 53 percent of the vote on November 2, 2020. Amanda Adkins, the Republican candidate, only had 44 percent.<\/p>\n

“Our victory would not have been possible without your hard work. Every phone call you made, text you sent, or conversation you had made this possible,” Davids wrote on social media<\/a> on Tuesday night. “I’ll never stop fighting for <\/span>#KS03<\/a><\/span>.”
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

“Congratulations to my colleague and sister in the struggle <\/span>@sharicedavids <\/a><\/span>on your victory tonight,” Rep. Deb Haaland (D), who won re-election in New Mexico<\/a>, said in a post of her own<\/a>. “I look forward to continuing to fight alongside you in Congress.”<\/p>\n

Davids and Haaland made history in 2018 as the first two Native women elected to the U.S. Congress. They will soon be joined by a third: Yvette Herrell<\/a>, a citizen of the Cherokee Nation who won her race in New Mexico\u2019s 2nd Congressional District<\/a>.<\/p>\n
