With almost all precincts reporting, Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R), a citizen of the Cherokee Nation, has won another term in office, representing Oklahoma’s 2nd Congressional District.<\/p>\n

Mullin has secured nearly 85 percent of the vote, according to unofficial results from the Oklahoma Secretary of State<\/a>\u00a0from around 9pm Central on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

Danyell Lanier, also Cherokee, has only received about 22 percent, according to the results. She was the Democratic nominee.<\/p>\n

About 17 percent of the population in the district is Native.<\/p>\n
