Washington, DC <\/b>\u2014 In light of the U.S. District Court of the District of Columbia\u2019s stay on OMB\u2019s freeze of federal grants, Skye Perryman, President and CEO of Democracy Forward<\/b> released the following statement:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a sigh of relief for millions of people who have been in limbo over the last twenty-four hours as the result of the Trump Administration\u2019s callous attempt to wholesale shutter federal assistance and grant programs that people across this country rely on. We are grateful for this administrative stay to allow our clients time to sort through the chaos created by the Trump Administration\u2019s hasty and ill-advised actions and bring more fulsome briefing to the court.\u201d<\/p>\n

The stay came in response to a suit<\/a> filed by Democracy Forward on behalf of the National Council of Nonprofits, the American Public Health Association, Main Street Alliance, and SAGE.<\/p>\n
