Senator Mark Kelly Flies Across Rural Arizona to Campaign for Harris-Walz, Encourage Early Voting
Senator Kelly Hosted Early Vote Events in Sierra Vista, Yuma, Tuba City, Flagstaff, Lake Havasu City, and Casa Grande
This week, former Navy combat pilot and astronaut Mark Kelly flew himself across the Grand Canyon State for a swing through rural communities to mobilize Arizonans, including Latino, veteran, Native American, and Republican voters; drive enthusiasm for early voting in Arizona; and rally support for Vice President Harris, Governor Walz and Democrats up and down the ballot.
“Here in Arizona, there is a lot of enthusiasm, there’s a lot of energy. People know the contrast between the two candidates at the top of the ticket could not be more clear. Now it’s about getting the vote out. We're going to have an election and we're going to make sure that Kamala Harris is the next president of the United States,” said Senator Mark Kelly. “The former president has little desire to represent all of America. I know Kamala Harris and I know her pretty well. She cares about everybody and is going to work to make this country a better place for everybody, regardless of who you are or what party you vote for. But Donald Trump, that’s not true for him.”
Senator Kelly started his tour at a Veterans for Harris event in Sierra Vista where he spoke about what’s at stake for veterans and military families in this election. With less than two weeks until Election Day, Senator Kelly underscored the contrast between Vice President Harris and Governor Walz’s New Way Forward that will lower costs for rural families, increase access to affordable and high-quality health care in rural communities and ensure everyone has the opportunity to not just get by but get ahead, versus Donald Trump and JD Vance’s Project 2025 agenda that will give Trump unprecedented, unchecked control over Arizonans’ daily lives, raise costs on families by nearly $4,000 a year, and take this country backwards.
