The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation have begun work on an $85 million casino expansion project in Oregon.
In the first phase, the Wildhorse Resort and Casino in Pendleton is getting more family-friendly updates, according to news reports. The entertainment center will grow to 48,000 square-feet and will include a 24-hour restaurant, an ice cream bar, a 24-lane bowling alley, a movie theater complex, a bar, pool tables and an arcade For the second phase, the will add a new hotel tower and events center to the property. It's due to offer 300 rooms, in addition to the 300 already on site, according to the reports. Construction on the first phase already began. Work is expected to be complete by the end of next year, BoiseDev reported. The second phase is expected to start in a few months, The Walla Walla Union-Bulletin reported. A completion date hasn't been specified.
