The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community reopened its flagship gaming facility in Arizona after it suffered damage during a recent storm.
The Talking Stick Resort and Casino near Scottsdale welcomed gamblers on Monday after closing on August 11. The tribe repaired the electrical system at the facility but also used the time to make some renovations. "After the dedicated work of staff and skilled contractors, the necessary repairs were made to restore the property’s electrical system and other areas," an update on the facility's webpage read. "We appreciate everyone’s patience during this time, as we made the decision early on to only reopen the property after ensuring quality work was completed, verified and authorized by qualified agencies." The hotel will begin re-accepting guests on September 30, 3TV/CBS 5 reported.
