The Mohegan Tribe is moving forward with a $5 billion gaming project in South Korea.
Mohegan Gaming &
Entertainment expects to complete financing for the first phase of Inspire this year, GGRAsia reported. The firm is also meeting with officials in the country later in the coming weeks to update them on the progress.
The first phase, expected to cost $1.6 billion, is due to open in 2021. It will feature a 15,000-seat indoor entertainment arena, three hotels with 1,000 rooms and a foreigners-only casino with 180 gaming tables and 700 slot machines, GGRAsia reported.
Additional work will bring the investment to $5 billion, according to Mohegan Gaming.
The facility will be located at the Incheon
International Airport near Seoul, the nation's
capital.
