The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe held a topping-off ceremony on Wednesday as part of a $60 million casino expansion project in Michigan.
The Saganing Eagles Landing Casino in Standish is getting a five-story hotel tower with 148 rooms. A full-service restaurant, additional space for retail and a larger gaming floor are also in the works. “We’re actually going to be a true destination location now that people can actually come here and spend the night for a night or two and enjoy the facility," gaming chief executive officer Raymond Brenny told WNEM. The project isn't the only big ticket item on the reservation. The tribe is also undertaking a $26.5 million expansion at its flagship Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mount Pleasant.
