The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation is mourning the death of Felix Rappaport, the tribe's top gaming executive.
Rappaport, 65, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, the tribe announced. He had served as the president and chief executive officer at Foxwoods Resort Casino since November 2014. "On behalf of the entire tribal council, Foxwoods management team and staff, we extend our deepest sympathies to Felix's family," Chairman Rodney Butler said in a press release. "With his passing, we have suffered a major loss. Felix's passion for modernizing and growing Foxwoods, as well as his friendship, mentorship and humor touched everyone who worked with him. We are confident that Felix's legacy will live on as we continue to push forward on the vision he set." Rappaport was in his suite at Foxwoods when he passed away, The Hartford Courant reported.
